December 30, 2019: President Signed the GREAT Act, Requiring New Grant Recipient Data Reporting

The President signed H.R. 150, Grant Reporting Efficiency and Agreements Transparency Act of 2019 (GREAT Act) into law on December 30, 2019. This bill requires the establishment and use of data standards for information reported by recipients of federal grants.  It requires the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the executive department that issues the most federal grant awards to establish government-wide data standards for information reported by grant recipients. Under the bill, the recipient-reported data collected from all agencies must be published on a single public website. The bill also amends the Single Audit Act to require single audits and audit-related information to be reported in an electronic form consistent with the data standards established by the GREAT Act.  Additional information on the bill compiled by the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers can be found here.
